ABOUT
About EFFL
The Economic Freedom Fighters of Liberia (EFFL) is a revolutionary political and social movement born out of the desire to liberate Liberia from decades of economic oppression, inequality, and foreign exploitation. Established to provide a voice to the voiceless and represent the marginalized, the EFFL seeks to build a Liberia where the wealth and resources of the nation are controlled by the people and used to benefit every citizen, not just the privileged few.
With its uncompromising stance on justice, equality, and economic liberation, the EFFL has positioned itself as a beacon of hope for communities across Liberia’s 15 counties. The movement advocates for a radical transformation of Liberia’s political and economic systems, focusing on nationalizing key industries, dismantling corruption, and building a more inclusive and self-reliant society.
Historical Context
Liberia’s history has been marked by cycles of conflict, economic mismanagement, and foreign exploitation. Despite being endowed with abundant natural resources such as iron ore, gold, diamonds, and timber, the majority of Liberians continue to live in poverty. Decades of elite control and foreign dominance over Liberia’s wealth have left rural communities impoverished, healthcare systems in shambles, and youth without access to quality education or jobs.
In response to these systemic injustices, the Economic Freedom Fighters of Liberia emerged as a people-powered movement with a mission to reclaim the nation’s resources, fight corruption, and empower the masses. The EFFL’s struggle is not just political—it is deeply personal for every Liberian seeking dignity, opportunity, and freedom from exploitation.

Vision
A free and sovereign Liberia, where power and wealth are reclaimed from corrupt elites and foreign exploiters for the benefit of all Liberians.
Mission
To dismantle corrupt systems, end foreign exploitation of our resources, and empower the masses with education, healthcare, and economic freedom.
Core Beliefs and Ideology
Economic Freedom and Resource Ownership
The EFFL demands the nationalization of key industries such as mining, forestry, and energy to ensure that profits are reinvested into healthcare, education, and infrastructure for the people. The movement opposes foreign monopolies and calls for Liberian ownership and control of national resources.
Anti-Corruption and Transparent Governance
The EFFL is a fierce opponent of government corruption and elite capture of public resources. It advocates for transparency and the prosecution of corrupt officials. It demands a fair justice system that protects the poor and vulnerable.
Social and Justice Inclusion
The EFFL fights for equal opportunities for all Liberians, with a special focus on empowering women, youth, and rural communities. It promotes inclusive policies that guarantee access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities for the marginalized.
Grassroots Mobilization and People-Centered Development
The movement believes in building power from the grassroots, working directly with communities to identify challenges and co-create solutions. The EFFL emphasizes self-reliance and collective action to drive change.
